The latest beta version of Ubuntu 8.04 has a new version of Wubi an application that allows you to install Ubuntu under Windows as a disk image to which you can boot, no partitioning needed.

The latest beta version of Ubuntu 8.04 has a new version of Wubi an application that allows you to install Ubuntu under Windows as a disk image to which you can boot, no partitioning needed.
It’s a very cool idea, but I havn’t had any success getting it to work, yet.
It copies the files accross , and hacks the Windows boot loader, but when you try to boot into it, it fails to mount it’s own virtual partitition. It maybe something I’m doing (or not doing!) but there dosn’t seem to be many options to change!
